ASTRATELLI, LUXURY JEWELLERY BRAND

ABOUT THE NAME

Symbols of aspiration, hope and beauty, precious gemstones are the stars of the earth. Often forming thousands or millions of years ago deep within the earth, the gemstones of fine jewellery remain as brilliant and as beautiful as ever.

Derived from the Latin with a little artistic license, Astratelli means ‘stars of the earth’. The Italian sounding name was chosen to create a sense of stylish exclusivity in line with the great Italian design houses and Astratelli’s own Italian heritage, which has always been a source of artistic inspiration.

In Chinese Astratelli translates as 地球之星 pronounced ‘dee chee-ou juh shing’ or ‘di qiu zhi xing’.

ABOUT THE STAR

The Astratelli star is based on the Martin estoile, worn by our designer’s father (whose mother was the last of the Martin line) and her brother. The star was engraved on their signet rings, one of bloodstone and gold the other of plain gold. The Martin motto fittingly was ‘sic itur ad astra’ or ‘this is the way to the stars’.

Exploring diverse themes, Domini expresses her own philosophy through her designs.
