Apple of My Eye in Milan

This couple met in Milan by the big apple statue that has a bite taken out of it and sewn back in with stitches. The exaggerated talons that hold this dark green sapphire in place are reminiscent of these stitches and the place where they met. Dark green is also the lady's favourite colour. It took us a while to agree on the exact formation of the accompanying diamonds, but when her girlfriend mentioned that she really liked fairy lights, we hit upon a design where the diamonds wound round the ring like fairy lights.
